Role Overview

The Winnipeg Football Club is looking for a skilled operations leader to oversee stadium operations and housekeeping. In this role, you will help deliver an outstanding fan experience by keeping event setups, transitions, and cleanups running smoothly and on schedule.

This position is hands-on and fast paced. You will work directly with operations and housekeeping teams to plan and carry out stadium and room setups, tear-downs, cleaning, and conversions for the next event with accuracy and efficiency.

It is a permanent salaried role based at Princess Auto Stadium. Work hours are tied to events and on-field activities, and the schedule will often include nights, weekends, and holidays depending on business requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Lead operations and housekeeping staff in a busy event-driven environment.
  • Create and execute work plans to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Coordinate room and field staging, event setups, tear-downs, conversions, and cleanups for games, corporate functions, banquet spaces, and other events.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate team members, including supporting job fairs throughout the year.
  • Monitor staffing, scheduling, resources, and work plans while staying within budget.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and guide staff day to day.
  • Oversee snow clearing and grounds crews and help plan and carry out snow removal as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, loaders, and related equipment to complete operational tasks.
  • Handle other assigned duties as required.

What You Need

You should bring 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role leading operational teams. The role requires strong planning, organization, logistics, multitasking, and communication abilities.

You must be comfortable working varied hours, including daytime, evenings, overnights, weekends, and some holidays, based on the event calendar. The position also calls for strong leadership skills, sound judgment, the ability to coach and support others, and a safety-first approach.

Strong written and verbal communication is essential, along with a professional manner when dealing with employees, contractors, vendors, tenants, and senior leaders. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and email.

Attention to detail, proactive problem solving, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are important. The work is physically demanding and takes place in all weather conditions, with regular standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and moving equipment weighing 20+ pounds continuously.

A current valid driver’s licence is required. Experience using forklifts, loaders, or similar equipment will be considered an advantage.

Equal Opportunity and Accommodation

The Winnipeg Football Club welcomes applications from qualified candidates from all backgrounds and abilities. In line with accessibility and human rights requirements, the organization will provide interview accommodations for applicants with disabilities and other protected needs. If you need accommodation, you should let the employer know, and they will work with you if you are selected for an interview.
