Role Overview
The Manager of Business Development plays a crucial role focused on sales related to clinical and development projects. The position involves generating new business opportunities, shaping sales strategies, and fostering strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage new prospects through targeted campaigns and cold outreach, collaborating with the Business Development Executive team on outbound processes.
- Manage sales operations and business activities tailored for assigned client groups, coordinating closely with management.
- Lead contract negotiations concerning manufacturing, clinical development, formulation, and packaging services.
- Develop and maintain long-lasting customer relationships ensuring ongoing collaboration.
- Present comprehensive business proposals ranging from development stages to commercial production, including bundled service opportunities.
- Spot new markets, client requirements, and industry trends to expand business.
- Represent Simtra at trade exhibitions, conferences, and industry seminars to boost brand visibility and generate leads.
- Engage in dynamic projects alongside Marketing and R&D teams, especially in market research and sales promotional activities.
- Serve as a proactive, technically-informed liaison between customers and commercial teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or similar natural science discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or related roles.
- Background in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors, ideally with experience in Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) or contract manufacturing.
- Familiarity with process development or commercial manufacturing of sterile injectables is advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and proactive work approach.
- Fluent in English.
- Willingness to travel between 30% and 50% of the time.
