Role Overview

At Star Construction LLC, the Locator I position involves identifying and marking underground utilities using flags and paint to ensure project safety and efficiency. You will operate detection equipment and interpret utility maps while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Duties

Utilize detection tools to locate underground utilities, consulting experienced locators when necessary
Accurately interpret and follow utility maps for locating purposes
Record all locates thoroughly
Promptly and courteously respond to excavation notices
Communicate effectively with excavators, utility representatives, and company staff
Perform light digging with a shovel as needed
Work overtime, travel, and cover on-call/after-hours duties as required
Operate in all weather conditions

Requirements

Minimum age of 18 years
Authorization to work in the United States
High school diploma, GED equivalent, or related work experience
Valid non-provisional state driver's license with a clean driving record
Physical capability to work alone in remote areas; perform tasks such as lifting up to 55 pounds, bending, stooping, walking, and using hand tools and computer equipment
Ability to occasionally use ladders, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs
