Light Duty Cleaner

Job Overview

We are seeking a Light Duty Cleaner to perform cleaning duties onsite at various commercial and office building locations in Victoria, British Columbia. This role requires working in a non-smoking, outdoor environment with tasks completed directly at designated physical workplaces, including hotels, motels, resorts, and commercial buildings. Candidates should have minimal experience and no formal educational qualifications are required.

Job Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors to ensure cleanliness and presentation.
• Dusting furniture thoroughly.
• Vacuuming carpets, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and polishing kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
• Cleaning and disinfecting elevators to maintain hygiene standards.
• Picking up debris and emptying trash containers regularly.

Candidate Requirements

• English language proficiency.
• No degree, certificate, or diploma necessary.
• Between 1 and 7 months of relevant experience in cleaning or related roles.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite without remote work options.
• Own reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel regularly to various work sites.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, handle loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and engage in bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, standing for extended periods, and walking.
• Attention to detail with punctuality, dependability, good judgment, and strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset with strong organizational ability.
• Values such as honesty, patience, ethics, client focus, and flexibility are essential.
• References required for security and safety purposes.

Work Environment

• Work occurs in non-smoking premises including offices, commercial properties, and hospitality venues.
• Some tasks will be performed outdoors.
• Fast-paced and physically demanding conditions requiring stamina and endurance.
