Overview
We are in search of an adept Upholstery Tailor skilled at crafting fabric and leather patterns for innovative sofa designs and expertly stitching them. The candidate should effectively blend traditional tailoring expertise with the ability to develop patterns for new products, backed by practical experience in sofa cladding.
Primary Duties
- Create precise fabric and leather cutting patterns based on new sofa design blueprints and prototypes to assist New Product Development (NPD).
- Sew sofa covers, cushions, and other upholstery parts adhering to established quality benchmarks.
- Convert 2D and 3D design concepts into accurate, manufacturing-ready patterns.
- Produce sample patterns for trial purposes and improve them according to fit, finish, and feedback evaluations.
- Carry out cladding tasks on sofa frames, including wrapping, securing, and finishing fabric or leather on frame assemblies.
- Ensure uniformity in stitching quality, seam placement, and material application throughout production runs.
- Collaborate with design and production teams throughout the NPD process.
- Manage material use efficiently to reduce fabric and leather waste.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and quality standards on the production floor.
Compensation
The monthly remuneration for this position ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 INR.
