Role overview
Peach Cars is hiring a Learning & Development Manager to shape, run, and expand its internal learning ecosystem. The role sits within People & Culture and is based in Nairobi.
You will be responsible for building capability across the organisation, improving performance readiness, and strengthening leadership depth. A major part of the job is to embed a culture of continuous learning, create role-specific development paths for individual contributors, managers, and senior leaders, and make sure training efforts are measurable, business-linked, and grounded in data. You will work closely with the Head of People & Culture and leaders across functions to help the company scale its talent effectively.
Learning strategy and Peach Academy
You will help shape and deliver a company-wide learning strategy aligned with Peach Cars’ growth goals, values, and operating model. You will also own Peach Academy as the company’s internal platform for building capability and turn business priorities into annual learning plans and structured training roadmaps.
Learning journeys and capability frameworks
The role involves designing and maintaining learning journeys for individual contributors, people managers, and senior leaders. These pathways should support performance expectations, readiness for progression, and leadership development.
Content development and curriculum design
You will create, curate, and maintain learning material across key areas such as customer service and customer experience excellence, product and vehicle knowledge, sales and support function skills, and people management and leadership capability. You will also work with internal subject-matter experts to turn organisational knowledge into scalable learning resources.
Training delivery and coordination
You will plan and coordinate internal training across branches and teams, deliver some sessions yourself, and support managers or internal trainers to facilitate others effectively. This includes managing training schedules, attendance, and follow-up reinforcement activities after training.
HRMIS and learning systems enablement
You will oversee the setup and ongoing improvement of the HRMIS learning module so it supports course assignment, learning journeys, progress tracking, assessments, certifications, dashboards, and reporting. You will also create ways to identify training needs using performance, quality, and business data.
Learning impact, measurement, and ROI
The role requires you to define success measures for learning programmes, track outcomes, and show return on investment by linking learning to performance, quality, and customer experience improvements. You will use findings to keep improving content, delivery, and prioritisation.
Manager enablement and learning culture
You will equip people managers to develop talent within their teams and help embed learning into performance reviews, development discussions, and career planning. You will also promote a culture of ownership, feedback, and continuous improvement.
Broader People & Culture contribution
In addition to learning responsibilities, you will support wider People & Culture work such as onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and engagement programmes, while acting as a trusted partner and delivery lead on capability-related initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
The role calls for a relevant bachelor’s degree such as Human Resources, Education, Organisational Development, Business, or equivalent practical experience. You should bring at least 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Organisational Development. Hands-on experience with HRMIS/LMS platforms, learning analytics, and instructional design is required, along with proven ability to design and deliver structured learning programmes at scale.
Strong facilitation skills, stakeholder management ability, and programme execution capability are essential. Experience in fast-growing, multi-site, or startup environments is preferred, as is a coaching or facilitation certification and exposure to customer-centric or operations-heavy businesses.
Competencies and working style
You should demonstrate strategic thinking with strong execution, strong instructional design and facilitation skills, data-driven judgement, clear communication, and the ability to influence across levels. Success in this role also requires collaboration, partnership with stakeholders, and a strong sense of accountability.
Peach Cars values challenge, respect, and ownership. The ideal candidate will reflect these behaviours, remain proactive and solution-focused, welcome feedback, and work comfortably across functions.
Success measures
In the first 3 months, Peach Academy governance, the learning strategy, and the key learning journeys should be clearly defined and in motion. By 6 months, role-based learning journeys should be active on the HRMIS, participation and completion should be measurable, and key training programmes should have been delivered with positive feedback and early signs of impact. By 12 months, the business should see clear improvement in capability, manager effectiveness, and customer experience metrics associated with learning, with Peach Academy established internally as a key driver of performance and growth.
Long term, the successful hire will be viewed as an important enabler of Peach Cars’ growth, performance culture, and leadership pipeline.
What you can expect
At Peach, growth is described as a people promise. You can expect ownership, clear expectations, regular feedback, and opportunities to expand your scope and impact as the business grows. High performers are supported with trust, learning, and opportunity.
