Kitchen Helper

Overview

This role is for a kitchen helper operating on-site at Red Tomato Pies in Prince George, British Columbia. Candidates should have a secondary school education or equivalent experience, with 1 to less than 7 months of relevant work experience. The position requires physical presence at the workplace with no remote work option, and willingness to relocate for the position.

Responsibilities

The role involves a range of kitchen and customer-related duties including cleaning and sanitizing kitchen tools such as dishwasher mats and carts; organizing dishes in storage; packaging take-out meals; portioning and wrapping food items; preparing and heating simple food items; serving customers at counters or buffet tables; stocking refrigerators and salad bars; taking orders; using manual and electric appliances to prepare food; handling cleaning products; receiving and storing supplies; disposing of kitchen waste; performing floor cleaning and maintenance; and washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.

Requirements and Credentials

Successful candidates should hold or be eligible to obtain a Safe Food Handling certificate. The role expects physical stamina in a fast-paced environment involving repetitive tasks, careful attention to detail, and ability to handle up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) of weight.
