Junior / Mid-Level Architect

Position Overview

Selton Skye is looking for a proactive and skilled Junior to Mid-Level Architect to join our expanding development and construction team based in Accra, Ghana. This role supports a variety of projects spanning warehouses, factories, residential properties, commercial complexes, and small to medium mixed-use developments.

Key Duties

• Create architectural designs and technical drafts including conceptual layouts, detailed construction drawings, site plans, elevations, sections, and detailed views.
• Assist in feasibility assessments, spatial planning, and the development of design concepts compliant with Ghanaian building codes and standards.
• Collaborate with consultants, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated project execution.
• Contribute to the design and layout optimization of industrial, commercial, residential, and office spaces focusing on safety, operational efficiency, and functionality.
• Develop interior design plans, select materials and finishes, prepare 3D visual presentations, and coordinate interior schemes with architectural and MEPF components.
• Help prepare and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire layouts, collaborating closely with MEP consultants to ensure integrated system designs and resolve any design clashes.
• Support project management by assisting in planning, scheduling via Microsoft Project, monitoring progress, and maintaining project documentation and reporting.
• Conduct site inspections to verify construction aligns with approved plans, resolving on-site technical or design challenges, and acting as liaison among suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably covering industrial, residential, and commercial projects.
• Familiarity with Ghanaian construction regulations and practices is advantageous.
• Professional affiliation or registration with a recognized architectural body in Ghana is desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Photoshop for architectural design and visualization.
• Strong command of Microsoft Project, Excel, and the Office suite for project planning and documentation.

Personal Competencies

• Excellent technical drafting, detailing, and spatial planning capabilities.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and project coordination.
• Meticulous attention to detail, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Problem-solving aptitude and ability to perform under tight deadlines with professionalism and eagerness to learn.

Additional Information

This role is located onsite within the Memphis Metropolitan Area with full-time employment. Candidates should be prepared for hands-on site coordination and active engagement with multiple project stakeholders throughout various stages of development.
