Junior Manual Tester

About the Role

We are searching for a meticulous Manual Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team in Singapore for a 6-month contract. The candidate will test web and mobile applications, uncover and document defects, and ensure software meets functional and quality standards prior to release. Collaboration with developers, business analysts, and product managers is essential to deliver dependable and high-caliber software.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review business and functional requirements to devise efficient test scenarios and test cases.
• Conduct manual testing across web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
• Carry out functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and user acceptance tests (UAT).
• Detect, log, monitor, and verify defects using bug-tracking systems.
• Work with developers to reproduce issues and support resolution efforts.
• Confirm bug corrections and re-run regression tests as needed.
• Compile test reports and update stakeholders on testing progress.
• Ensure compliance with software quality benchmarks before deployment.
• Engage in requirements assessments and provide QA insights.
• Keep test documentation current and refine test cases as applications evolve.

Qualifications and Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Between 1 to 4 years of experience in manual software testing.
• Proficient in developing test cases, plans, and execution documentation.
• Understanding of multiple testing types including functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and UAT.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Bugzilla).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail paired with solid documentation skills.
• Effective written and oral communication capabilities.
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
• Basic proficiency in SQL for database validations.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman is favorable.
• Exposure to Agile and Scrum project methodologies.
• Possession of ISTQB certification is advantageous.
