Role Overview
The IT Operations Manager will have responsibility for overseeing the Infrastructure, Security, Technical Delivery, and Azure Services at the Biffa Group to ensure seamless IT service provision. This role involves striking the right balance between cost efficiency, service quality, and governance, fostering agile business expansion and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and optimize IT infrastructure with an emphasis on Azure technologies, maintaining legacy systems and managing migration where required.
- Enhance incident and problem management procedures through effective communication and escalation processes.
- Implement talent management strategies and career development plans consistent with company-wide goals.
- Provide leadership and growth opportunities for a technically skilled team, ensuring efficient resource use, productivity, and adherence to project management principles.
- Define scope, schedule, and budget for infrastructure projects and ensure their successful completion.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance policies, infrastructure standards, security protocols, and Azure strategies.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on system performance metrics, availability, capacity, and Azure resource forecasting.
- Test and maintain business continuity plans aligned with defined Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) targets.
- Promote continuous enhancement of IT services, including post-merger and acquisition integration efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Substantial background in IT management or architectural roles.
- Certified in Azure and Security frameworks, with proven experience in project management.
- Strong expertise in Azure design, solution delivery, and security management.
- Ability to lead, inspire, and develop highly effective technical teams.
- Commercial awareness including budget oversight and aligning IT initiatives with business objectives.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with diverse audiences.
- Highly self-motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel as necessary to facilitate project implementation and organizational goals.
