Role Overview
The Inventory Control Supervisor is a key member of the management team in Jamaica, responsible for overseeing and improving inventory control processes across hotel departments to protect assets and optimize operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct both scheduled and surprise inventory audits across all hotel departments.
- Reconcile stock records and investigate discrepancies such as shortages or excesses.
- Track inventory movements ensuring adherence to control procedures.
- Detect risks related to theft, pilferage, and losses and recommend corrective actions.
- Create and enforce inventory control processes to enhance accountability and efficiency.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, variance analyses, and suggest improvements for management.
- Collaborate closely with Department Heads, Purchasing, Warehouse, Finance, and Security to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Maintain precise inventory documentation and authorize stock transactions appropriately.
- Train inventory custodians and department supervisors on control policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits and help drive continuous process enhancements.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective inventory control systems and compliance, minimizing losses, and overseeing audits and investigations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Experience: At least 3 years in inventory control, cost control, auditing, or warehouse operations, ideally within hospitality.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles, internal controls, and auditing practices.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
- Excellent detail orientation and report writing skills.
- Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated high integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
