Role Overview
The Milwaukee Brewers High-Performance Department is seeking an intern to support the application of sports science and athlete monitoring. This role involves assisting with various assessments such as GPS, force plates, fitness testing, HRV monitoring, sprint profiling, and motion capture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to High Performance staff during setup and operation of athlete performance testing and monitoring.
- Assist in collecting data for athlete assessments including GPS tracking, force plate usage, cardiorespiratory tests, heart rate variability monitoring, sprint speed and force-velocity profiling, VALD Dynamo tests, and motion capture procedures.
- Adhere to established protocols to maintain consistency and reliability of data collection.
Candidate Profile
- Must be in final semester of an undergraduate program or recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Biology, Physiology, Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in baseball-related roles is highly desirable.
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, motor control, or neurophysiology.
- Familiarity with applied technologies used in player performance assessment and monitoring, such as AMS, force plates, Excel, Power BI, and Tableau, preferred.
- Basic knowledge of baseball is an advantage.
