About the Role

A consumer packaged goods manufacturer in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Operations on a contract-to-hire basis. The role requires a proactive operations leader to guide day-to-day manufacturing functions during an executive transition period, contributing to operational stability and efficiency in a complex production setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily manufacturing activities to ensure smooth operation
• Manage production scheduling and planning processes
• Oversee procurement and inventory control
• Coordinate logistics and shipment activities
• Track and evaluate production and packaging performance
• Maintain operational KPIs and generate regular reports
• Collaborate closely with warehouse and production management
• Ensure quality standards and uphold operational excellence
• Support executive transition with focus on process continuity

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven leadership in manufacturing operations
• Preferred background in food, beverage, nutrition, supplement, or CPG manufacturing
• Expertise in procurement, inventory management, production scheduling
• Strong skills in operational planning and organization
• Capable of managing multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment
• Comfortable engaging across teams and leadership levels

Additional Preferred Expertise

• Experience with co-packing or contract manufacturing arrangements
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management tools
• Skilled in developing operational metrics and reporting frameworks
• Exposure to continuous improvement practices
