Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team at the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant. This opportunity is ideal for someone eager to showcase their expertise in instrumentation and problem-solving to support Auckland's drinking water and wastewater services efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure instrumentation and control systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Conduct testing, calibration, installation, repairs, and inspections of control and monitoring equipment.
- Maintain the functionality of existing instrumentation systems.
- Install and commission new system additions or upgrades.
- Respond promptly to control system alarms and report any systems at risk to supervisors.
- Keep precise records of all calibration and test results.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in industrial instrumentation and possess a National Certificate in Industrial Instrumentation and Control (Level 4) or an equivalent qualification. Electrical Service Technician (EST) Registration or Electrical Registration is also required. You must be a proactive self-starter with a positive mindset and a genuine interest in the water and wastewater industry.
- Strong technical understanding of process control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and DCS, especially within continuous process environments.
- Experience leading and collaborating with teams of technical specialists.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently.
- Attention to detail combined with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
