Role Overview

This part-time remote role focuses on managing Human Resources and payroll functions for Mack Hill Farm. Key duties involve maintaining accurate employee records, processing payroll, coordinating timekeeping information, and ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws. Additional responsibilities include managing basic employee benefits data, assisting with onboarding documentation, and consistently applying HR policies. Collaboration with farm management is essential to address personnel inquiries, support staff communications, and guarantee timely, error-free payroll processing.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Human Resources management to support core HR tasks and all stages of the employee lifecycle.
• Understanding of HR policies and employee benefits to maintain compliance and communicate clearly with team members.
• Experience in personnel management, including workforce coordination, employee record keeping, and basic employee relations.
• Familiarity with payroll systems, timekeeping software, and basic accounting or bookkeeping principles.
• Strong attention to detail, maintaining confidentiality, and accuracy when handling sensitive payroll and employee data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment independently.
• Knowledge of U.S. labor laws and Vermont state-specific employment regulations is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in HR or payroll roles and possession of an associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
