Role overview
Green by Nature treats safety as a core part of how it supports its people, the communities it serves, and the environments where it operates. This position is a strong fit for an HSE professional with experience who enjoys working with people, shaping safer behaviours on site, and helping teams feel informed, supported, and protected at work.
About the role
In this HSE Advisor position, you will partner with operational leaders and field teams across Thames-Coromandel and the broader region to deliver practical, day-to-day Health, Safety & Environment support. The role focuses on strengthening safe work practices, assisting with incident investigations, and contributing to ongoing improvements in how people are cared for across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside leaders and frontline staff to help build a positive, values-driven safety culture.
- Provide hands-on guidance, coaching, safety training, and general HSE support.
- Take a lead role in incident investigations and support them using the ICAM method.
- Help with risk assessments, site inspections, toolbox talks, safety notices, and other safety improvement activities.
- Support compliance requirements while keeping HSE processes practical, accessible, and focused on people.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will combine solid technical HSE knowledge with empathy, teamwork, and strong communication skills. The role calls for someone who can influence constructively, earn trust, and work well with people at different levels of the organisation.
Experience and qualifications
- ICAM investigation training is required.
- A Level 4 OSH qualification or diploma is preferred, ideally in Occupational Health and Safety, or a NEBOSH Diploma, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 to 5+ years of experience in an HSE advisory role.
- Experience in horticulture, arboriculture, or full facilities maintenance is desirable.
- A composed, confident manner and the ability to build credibility and trust across all levels.
What you can expect
You will be joining a company that has held an industry-leading position for more than 30 years. The role offers the chance to build your knowledge and experience while developing your career within one of Australasia’s largest green space maintenance organisations.
Additional conditions
In line with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy, the selected candidate must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test.
