Job description
Role Overview
This position involves working as a casual Healthcare Assistant within aged care facilities located throughout the Whangarei region. Assignments will be temporary and scheduled ahead, allowing flexible acceptance based on your availability.
Location and Work Conditions
Work will take place at various aged care residential centres in the Whangarei area. Shifts are casual and on-call, confirmed prior to each assignment. Candidates must hold New Zealand citizenship or residency, or have open work conditions. A current New Zealand driver's license is required. Radius Care does not facilitate work visas or visa changes for casual Healthcare Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing tasks delegated by the charge nurse promptly and efficiently.
- Providing personal care to residents, including assistance with hygiene, grooming, toileting, shaving, and oral and hair care.
- Supporting residents with mobilization to ensure safe movement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4, or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in aged care is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and compassion towards elderly residents and their families.
- Effective written and spoken communication abilities.
- Flexibility to work according to a rostered shift schedule.
