Head of EU Out-of-Home Delivery

Role Overview

The Head of Out-of-Home (OOH) Network for JD.com Logistics (JDL) will spearhead the planning and implementation of JDL's European OOH delivery strategy. This includes managing Pick-Up Drop-Off (PUDO) networks, partnerships with third-party locker providers, as well as JDL’s proprietary locker network. The goal is to harmonize all OOH delivery solutions to provide customers with a seamless experience, enhance last-mile delivery efficiency, reduce operational costs, and align with long-term logistics objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and drive the OOH strategy across European markets, promoting synergy between PUDO and locker channels to optimize customer reach, operational workflow, and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and evaluate new business prospects and introduce innovative OOH delivery solutions to grow the network and improve carrier efficiency.

PUDO Network Management

• Take ownership of the PUDO strategy and roadmap throughout Europe.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships with retailers and PUDO network providers.
• Establish and continually refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for PUDO fulfilment, including in-store and delivery processes.
• Define business needs and lead the feature development roadmap for the PUDO fulfilment platform in close collaboration with Product and IT teams.

Locker Network Oversight

• Set the strategy for the European locker network, aligned with the overall OOH vision.
• Forge partnerships with third-party locker networks to widen customer access and commercial prospects.
• Create SOPs and operational norms for locker fulfilment.
• Oversee the pilot program for JDL’s own locker network and technology to evaluate future scaling possibilities.

Leadership and Governance

• Manage and provide direction to the central European OOH team and local country team leads responsible for network growth.
• Support local teams in partnership development and ensure adherence to central strategies and operational guidelines.
• Track performance metrics at the country level, diagnose systemic challenges, and foster continuous operational enhancements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Product, IT, Procurement, Legal, and Customer Service departments to implement OOH initiatives successfully.
• Lead cross-departmental projects ensuring achievement of strategic goals across Europe.
