Primary Purpose
The role is responsible for ensuring that liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping activities strictly adhere to international maritime standards and environmental laws, focusing notably on regulations set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and European Union authorities.
Experience and Skills Required
- At least 10 years of professional experience in shipping operations, with a preference for those experienced in the LNG sector.
- In-depth knowledge of LNG vessel design, including expertise in cargo containment methods, propulsion systems, gas combustion facilities, boil-off gas (BOG) reliquefaction technology, and awareness of new advancements in LNG ship design and construction and their regulatory frameworks.
- Strong familiarity with international shipping regulations and industry standards pertinent to LNG shipping, including comprehension of the various roles played by consultative members within relevant regulatory bodies.
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in disciplines such as Business, Accounting, Economics, Marine Studies, Engineering, or equivalent fields. Alternatively, holding a Class 1 Marine Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) is acceptable.
