Grounds Supervisor

Position Overview

The Grounds Supervisor role at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts involves overseeing landscaping and grounds maintenance duties to uphold the premium appearance and functionality of the property located at Ummahat Island 1, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. This non-management position is full-time and requires on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inventories of all landscaping tools, equipment, and materials, and place orders for plants or supplies within budget limits.
• Track water usage from pumps and wells carefully.
• Perform minor structural repairs using hand and power tools.
• Prepare and apply chemical treatments to address pests, weeds, and plant diseases, while maintaining thorough records of fertilizer and pesticide applications.
• Manage irrigation systems through installation, maintenance, and operation.
• Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles for the transport of equipment and materials.
• Assist management with staff hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, and motivation, serving as a positive example and mentor.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and safety protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents to management and completing all required safety trainings.
• Protect company assets and maintain high service standards by anticipating and addressing guest needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written forms; develop positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common objectives.
• Ensure quality standards are consistently met through visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Engage in physical activities including standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and moving or lifting objects up to 50 pounds without help.
• Demonstrate fine motor skills and manual dexterity for operation of equipment and tasks requiring precise movements, including climbing ladders and navigating uneven terrain.
• Conduct snow removal and ice management as needed.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least three years of relevant work experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
