Role overview
The Governance Manager will be responsible for shaping, rolling out, and continuously refining the organization’s governance structure, including its policies, procedures, and controls. This part-time position in Dubai blends in-person collaboration with the flexibility to work from home.
What you will do
- Maintain and improve governance documents, standards, and internal procedures.
- Support compliance and risk-related activities to help ensure alignment with both regulatory expectations and company requirements.
- Prepare leadership-ready reports, dashboards, and other updates on governance matters.
- Organize and run governance meetings, including tracking agendas, discussions, decisions, and follow-up items.
- Work closely with teams across the organization to encourage strong governance practices and policy adherence.
- Assist with internal audit coordination and quality assurance efforts as needed.
What we are looking for
- A solid grasp of corporate governance, risk management, compliance, and internal control concepts.
- Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and putting policies, procedures, and governance materials into practice.
- Ability to coordinate committees or governance groups, including meeting preparation and minute-taking.
- Capacity to interpret legal, regulatory, and industry requirements and turn them into workable internal guidance.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to create clear stakeholder reports and presentations.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time-management skills suited to a part-time hybrid setup.
- Comfort using collaboration platforms and basic reporting or spreadsheet tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Public Policy, Governance, or a related discipline.
- Previous background in governance, compliance, or policy management, ideally in international or multi-stakeholder settings.
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse teams while handling confidential information with integrity.
Additional information
This role is part-time and based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a hybrid working arrangement that combines onsite collaboration and remote work.
Qualifications
The role calls for experience in governance, compliance, or policy-focused work, plus strong organizational, communication, and reporting capabilities. Advanced certifications in governance, risk, or compliance are considered an advantage.
