Global Quality Director

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the global quality strategy across manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners.
• Lead, develop, and nurture a skilled quality and regulatory team.
• Oversee the Quality Management System, driving continuous enhancements throughout the business.
• Establish robust governance structures for external manufacturing partners to maintain consistent quality standards internationally.
• Conduct supplier and manufacturing audits within the UK and overseas locations.
• Serve as the primary senior contact for regulatory inspections and customer audits.
• Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, mitigate risks, and enhance operational output.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Product departments to embed quality principles from inception to product delivery.
• Support scaling quality systems to accommodate business growth.
• Lead investigations, corrective actions, and risk management related to product quality issues.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in quality, ideally at the Head or Director level within GMP manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record managing quality for both internal manufacturing and outsourced production partners.
• In-depth understanding of quality management systems, auditing practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Confidence engaging with regulatory authorities, certification organizations, and major clients.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to interpret technical risks and convert them into business decisions.
• Pragmatic mindset balancing rigorous quality standards with operational realities.
• Experienced in building effective teams and fostering a positive quality culture beyond mere compliance enforcement.
• Willing to undertake frequent travel within the UK and internationally.
