Role overview

This remote contract opportunity is for a Geospatial Analysis Specialist who will contribute domain expertise to support the training of advanced AI systems. The work centers on supplying high-quality real-world input that helps models improve their learning, reasoning, and overall performance. Prior experience in AI is not required; deep knowledge of geospatial work is the key requirement.

What you will do

• Build, organize, and maintain spatial databases while safeguarding data quality, consistency, and accuracy across projects.
• Carry out sophisticated geoprocessing and spatial modeling in QGIS, then turn the results into practical insights.
• Create, adapt, and support QGIS plugins and extensions based on project needs.
• Use Python and PyQGIS to automate geospatial workflows, improving speed, repeatability, and reliability.
• Produce polished maps and visual outputs for reports, presentations, and decision-making materials.
• Work closely with team members from different functions to interpret requirements and convert them into geospatial solutions.
• Explain technical findings clearly in both spoken and written formats for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What we are looking for

• Hands-on expertise with QGIS, including spatial database handling, geoprocessing, and map creation.
• Strong Python skills, especially for task automation in QGIS using PyQGIS.
• Solid understanding of projections, coordinate reference systems, and data transformations.
• Ability to tailor QGIS through scripting or plugin development.
• Excellent communication skills for a variety of audiences.
• Ability to create professional cartographic outputs suited to different decision-making contexts.
• Good organization and careful attention to detail when handling multiple priorities.

Preferred background

• Experience working with remote or distributed teams that serve external customers.
• Exposure to other open-source GIS tools or cloud-based geospatial platforms.
• Experience in spatial analysis within fields such as environmental science, urban planning, or resource management.
