The Gas Bar Clerk Cashier plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service by operating safely and efficiently while following our company's policies and standards.
Key Duties
- Provide friendly and responsive customer service, addressing inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally within a diverse team setting.
- Carry out fueling duties including dispensing fuel and propane to vehicles and propane bottles in accordance with company guidelines and training.
- Maintain the convenience store by organizing stock, ensuring presentations meet standards, and assisting with deliveries as necessary.
- Manage merchandise with attention to quality control, prevention of damages, accurate pricing, and timely price adjustments.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks to keep the gas bar area safe and tidy, including spills, store fixtures, washrooms, and disposal of waste.
- Follow all safety and environmental policies related to occupational health, food safety, hazardous materials handling, and equipment use.
- Report maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.
- Support ordering, receiving, and inventory control activities for merchandise and supplies.
- Comply fully with all tobacco and lottery regulations and policies, maintaining stock and proper office management.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed Grade 9 or possess an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Proficient in English with a Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA) level 5 or higher.
- Relevant experience in retail or a similar field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a retail cashier is advantageous.
- Gas bar or fuel station experience is desirable.
- Completion and maintenance of a gas bar cashier training program during probation.
