Job Overview
DSV Air & Sea is looking to recruit a dedicated Freight Forwarder specializing in Import Air shipments based in Sydney. This role is focused on managing the transportation and shipment of import consignments by compiling, verifying, and completing all necessary documentation and data entries in adherence to corporate policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Import Air shipments according to workflow protocols, standard operating procedures, customer directives, and compliance mandates.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with customers, suppliers, airlines, co-loaders, transport vendors, and international partners.
- Ensure precise and timely data input for shipments using CargoWise One and Tango systems.
- Organize and prioritize daily importing tasks to achieve milestones, KPIs, deadlines, and deliver service excellence.
- Address and resolve import-related challenges through collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders; escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist senior leadership with ongoing process enhancements, daily operations, and special projects.
Candidate Profile
- Detail-focused with at least two years of relevant experience in Import Air operations or comparable roles.
- A process-oriented team player who adheres to structured workflows and contributes to process optimization.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills, shows initiative, and effectively escalates critical concerns impacting customers, workflows, or financials.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and experienced in CargoWise One or similar transportation management software, with a readiness to adopt emerging digital tools.
- Flexible, resilient, and enthusiastic to develop professionally within a dynamic logistics environment.
- Technically knowledgeable in Import Air procedures, ICS guidelines, costing models, and industry standards.
