Role overview
This opportunity is posted for a partner company that will handle applications and the next stages of the hiring process. The employer is seeking a Fraud Specialist in Germany to help protect a fast-scaling digital marketplace.
The position centers on spotting suspicious behavior, studying new fraud trends, and improving the controls that keep users and transactions secure. It blends investigation, analytics, and teamwork across functions to reduce risk before it affects the platform.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, finding unusual patterns in data, and building practical security improvements that raise trust across a global user base.
Key accountabilities
- Track marketplace activity to uncover suspicious patterns and stop fraudulent transactions.
- Review data to identify fraud signals, new threat patterns, and likely attack approaches.
- Handle escalated fraud cases, assess risk, and suggest the most appropriate follow-up action.
- Work with product, data, and engineering teams to strengthen fraud detection and prevention mechanisms.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and alerts that support ongoing fraud oversight.
- Help shape fraud prevention rules, procedures, and operational playbooks.
- Spot weaknesses early and recommend changes that improve platform safety and user confidence.
Requirements
- Background in fraud prevention, risk operations, trust and safety, fintech, e-commerce, or marketplace environments.
- Strong analytical ability and sound problem-solving skills, with the capacity to read data, spot patterns, and turn findings into action.
- Exposure to fraud monitoring tools, anomaly detection techniques, or rule-based risk systems.
- A careful, detail-focused approach and a proactive mindset for detecting and addressing threats early.
- Comfort working with cross-functional partners in product, data, and engineering.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, growing environment.
- Good English is required; stronger fluency is preferred because the working language is international.
Benefits
- Annual compensation between €22,440 and €26,400, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Eligibility to join an employee stock options program.
- Opportunity to help scale a distinctive digital product.
- Additional rewards may include performance bonuses, referral bonuses, extra paid leave, and personal learning budgets.
- Paid volunteering opportunities.
- Flexible work arrangements, with office-based, remote, and work-from-anywhere options available.
- Support for long-term development through regular feedback and career growth processes.

By applying, you agree that the recruiting platform will process your personal data to assess your candidacy and share relevant information with the employer. This is based on legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. You may request access, correction, deletion, or objection at any time.
Artificial intelligence may also be used to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, assessing responses, and identifying possible inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials.
