About Bachi
Bachi is creating a high-end marketplace for hospitality and event services. The platform is designed to help customers book private chefs, hibachi experiences, DJs, bartenders, and similar professionals for memorable events.
The company is initially focused on New York City, the Hamptons, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard, and it has plans to enter more markets over time. Its goal is to become a leading destination for private event and experience bookings.
Role Overview
This is being offered as a true co-founding opportunity rather than a standard hire. The selected person will join at the earliest stage and work directly with the founder to help shape Bachi's strategy, operations, partnerships, and long-term expansion.
The position is based in New York City, with a preference for a hybrid and flexible working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the company’s day-to-day operational activities.
- Design, refine, and scale internal systems and workflows.
- Source, onboard, and oversee hospitality partners.
- Create and maintain relationships with private chefs, DJs, bartenders, and other service providers.
- Lead business development efforts and build strategic partnerships.
- Support customer acquisition and marketplace growth.
- Recruit and manage future team members as the company expands.
- Collaborate with the founder on strategic planning and market expansion.
Candidate Profile
The ideal person has an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoys building from scratch. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities are important, along with the confidence to solve problems independently and take full ownership of outcomes.
Experience in hospitality, marketplaces, startups, operations, or technology would be beneficial, though the most important trait is a strong drive to help build a category-defining company.
Compensation and Equity
This role is structured as an early-stage co-founder opportunity. It includes meaningful founder equity, a minimal initial salary that is expected to increase as the business grows and begins generating revenue, and standard four-year vesting with a one-year cliff.
