Role overview
Chartwells K12 is looking to add full-time and part-time Food Service Workers in Avon, Mississippi. The role is based at Western Line, 102 Maddox Road, Avon, MS 38723, and applications are accepted online only.
Schedule
This opening offers both full-time and part-time shifts, with work scheduled Monday through Friday. Hours can change depending on operational needs, and additional details will be shared during the interview.
Compensation
The position pays a fixed wage of $12.50 per hour.
What the job involves
The Food Service Worker helps prepare, present, and serve meals. The work includes basic food prep, handling supplies and equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting food safety and service standards.
Key duties
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables as part of prep work.
- Measure ingredients accurately for production.
- Move pans, kettles, and trays between stations, ovens, and refrigerators while following safety rules.
- Store food correctly and follow wrapping, dating, rotation, and food-safety procedures.
- Keep work areas, tools, and utensils clean.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Use approved recipes and production guidelines to maintain quality, portion control, and proper serving temperatures.
- Serve guests politely and efficiently using the required service steps.
- Address customer issues and pass relevant information to the supervisor.
- Follow company rules for service standards, inventory handling, and cash control.
- Maintain sanitation and safety compliance at all times.
- Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
Experience and hiring preference
Prior food service experience is preferred, but it is not mandatory.

Those periods may be unpaid and treated as a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, possibly at another location during break periods. Business needs can change from year to year.
Certain roles may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
