Facilities Support Officer

Role Overview

The Facilities Support Officer will play an essential role in maintaining the smooth daily functioning of the Rural and Remote Health (RRH) team located in Alice Springs. In collaboration with the Facilities Manager and leadership, the officer will offer efficient support related to facilities, accommodation, and contractors. Acting as the initial point of contact, they will welcome staff, students, visitors, and community partners. The position involves hands-on duties, autonomy, and a chance to positively influence the experience of both students and staff across the campus and accommodation sites. Participation in an on-call rotation, including some weekend and after-hours commitment, is required to aid campus activities and student welfare.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver responsive support for campus facilities and student housing to facilitate uninterrupted operations in Alice Springs.
• Serve as the first contact point for staff, students, visitors, and contractors by providing professional assistance and efficiently addressing inquiries.
• Organize contractor schedules, maintenance requests, bookings, and manage campus assets such as vehicles, bicycles, and meeting rooms.
• Contribute to student wellness and campus management by offering practical on-site help, engaging in health and safety duties, and participating in an on-call roster.

• Proactive and customer service oriented, with strong administrative acumen and the capacity to build constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple demands and meet deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communicator and problem solver who shows initiative while working independently or collaboratively.
• Experienced with administrative software and Microsoft Office, with the ability to work well across different teams towards common goals.
