Job description
Job Overview
Join G Sons Engineering Co. as a Fabrication Fitter, specializing in structural steel work. You will be responsible for fabricating various heavy steel components such as columns, beams, trusses, platforms, staircases, handrails, pipe supports, sheds, and other industrial structures in accordance with approved fabrication drawings. This role requires precision in marking, measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting steel parts to ensure proper alignment and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work based on GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and basic structural plans.
- Handle fit-up tasks involving ISMB, ISMC, ISA, plates, square and rectangular pipes, and structural sections.
- Ensure accuracy in dimensions, levels, diagonals, alignment, and squareness during fabrication.
- Prepare plates, base plates, gusset plates, stiffeners, and connection plates accurately for welding.
- Perform joint preparations to meet welding requirements and coordinate closely with welders, supervisors, and QA/QC teams.
- Rectify any fabrication defects as guided and maintain high standards of workmanship and finish quality.
- Adhere to safety protocols both on-site and in workshops.
- Minimize material waste and complete fabrication tasks within the stipulated timeline.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 years of practical experience in heavy or industrial structural steel fabrication.
- Ability to independently read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with measurement tools like measuring tapes, spirit levels, try squares, grinders, gas cutting equipment, and fabrication instruments.
- Knowledge of structural steel sections and acceptable fabrication tolerances.
- Experience with industrial sheds, Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), platforms, or heavy steel structures is an advantage.
- Discipline, quality focus, and capability to work autonomously or as part of a fabrication team.
Preferred Background
Candidates experienced in chemical plants, engineering industries, EPC projects, PEB structures, industrial sheds, or heavy fabrication workshops will have preference.
Additional Details
- Work Location: Taloja MIDC, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
- Salary Range: INR 20,000 to 30,000 per month, depending on skills, experience, and practical trade test.
- Immediate joining is preferred.
