Expert Quantity Surveyor - Civil Scope

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor to manage the preconstruction commercial aspects of civil work on Data Center projects across Northern Europe. This position involves detailed cost estimation and budget development to support efficient project delivery within the specialized Data Center sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop precise cost estimations for civil system components.
• Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to calculate quantities and costs accurately.
• Create cost plans and set budgets specifically for the civil scope of projects.
• Utilize digital quantification tools like Bluebeam, CostX, and Revit for enhanced precision and efficiency.
• Contribute to procurement strategy formulation, including package structuring and facilitating early procurement of critical long-lead items.
• Ensure comprehensive capture and classification of all civil work to support tendering and procurement processes.
• Issue tenders to subcontractors and suppliers and manage the evaluation and negotiation of bids related to civil contracts.
• Provide expert advice regarding effective procurement approaches for civil packages.
• Critically review design documents to identify Value Engineering opportunities and alternative specification options to optimize value.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar relevant discipline.
• Minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in a main contractor role, preferably with exposure to Data Center projects.
• Experience working on Data Center projects with values exceeding €500 million.
• Proven track record in managing commercial aspects of construction in the Data Center arena.
• Competence in package negotiation with subcontractors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
• Accuracy in handling numerical data.
