About the Role
The Leadership Development & Strategy Cluster shapes Public Service-wide policies and practices for leadership and talent development. The team works toward three main outcomes: strong leaders and leadership teams who deliver well now and innovate for the future; a leadership pipeline with broader diversity in experience, capabilities and viewpoints; and a leadership community brought together by shared purpose, identity and values.
To deliver on this mandate, the cluster partners closely with stakeholders across and beyond the Public Service, including the Civil Service College, the HR community and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support policies and frameworks related to board directorships across the Public Service.
- Manage a candidate pool for board appointments, including evaluating and proposing technology options to maintain it effectively.
- Carry out board secretariat duties, such as end-to-end handling of board appointment and re-appointment processes in line with current guidelines.
- Oversee the full processing cycle for board-related training initiatives.
- Administer board fee processing in full compliance with prevailing rules, including timely annual fee disbursement and coordination with agency/company board secretariats and internal teams to address fee queries or mismatches.
What They Are Looking For
- Someone who is proactive, dependable, analytical, well-organised and highly detail-focused.
- Comfort in handling large amounts of information accurately.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a demanding, fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.
- A strong service mindset and willingness to go beyond the minimum to achieve common goals.
- Sound judgement, with the ability to weigh different viewpoints and turn them into timely, practical recommendations.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and ease in working with databases.
- Prior exposure to board or board secretariat work would be advantageous.
- At least 2 years of experience in recruitment, HR management, compliance, or corporate governance.
