Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise / Data Architect to lead the architecture and governance of a comprehensive Data Lakehouse for a prominent banking client based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time onsite position involves designing and validating architectural frameworks, ensuring platform integration, and overseeing data governance, compliance, and performance strategies aligned to enterprise standards and banking regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the complete end-to-end architecture of the Data Lakehouse, ensuring seamless data ingestion, storage, processing, consumption, and governance.
• Define and verify the target Medallion Architecture layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) aligned with enterprise principles.
• Implement architectural frameworks supporting batch, near-real-time, and historical data workflows.
• Maintain platform coherence across Cloudera Data Platform, Teradata EDW, Informatica tools, and Denodo for data virtualization and consumption.
• Review low-level designs, data flows, and integration patterns to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Assess existing Phase 1 deliverables such as data pipelines and data models to identify gaps and create remediation plans aligned with target architecture.
• Govern logical and physical enterprise data models adhering to Financial Services Logical Data Model (FSLDM) and FSAS aggregation standards.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and reusability of data models, validating aggregation logic and reporting readiness.
• Align data architecture with national data governance frameworks, including the National Data Management Office (NDMO) and National Data Index (NDI), ensuring metadata management, lineage, data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Design architecture to meet high availability (99.9% uptime), scalability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization goals.
• Serve as the principal architectural liaison among IT, data governance, security, and business stakeholders, participating in architecture governance forums and clearly communicating architectural decisions and impacts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive expertise in Enterprise Data Architecture, including data warehouse modernization and Data Lake/Lakehouse implementation with Medallion architecture.
• Deep knowledge of BFSI data domains and enterprise reference models such as FSLDM and FSAS.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudera CDP components (HDFS, Spark, Hive, Kafka), Teradata Vantage, Informatica ETL, and Denodo.
• Proven track record designing governance-focused architectures encompassing metadata, data lineage, quality frameworks, security mechanisms including masking and encryption, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong skills in non-functional requirements including performance tuning, scalability, capacity planning, resilience, and backup/recovery solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of leading technical discussions involving multiple vendors and teams.
• Governance-oriented mindset balanced with a pragmatic approach to delivery.
• Preferably over 15 years of experience in data architecture roles within large BFSI organizations and proven success in large-scale data platform transformation programs.
• Experience in hybrid delivery models incorporating both onsite and offshore teams; relevant architecture certifications or advanced data engineering background are valued.
