Job description
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in inspection roles within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries, specifically involved with constructing new and modifying existing 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, and 415 V electrical power distribution systems, including switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, UPS, earthing & lighting, underground cabling, cathodic protection, and small power distribution systems.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying EPC Contractor and Vendor design documentation during construction, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including significant modifications to existing Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Fire and Gas systems, control room architecture, and implementing new package boiler instrumentation systems.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with EPC Contractors, equipment manufacturers, and Client representatives during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for electrical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO and other relevant international standards.
- Fluent in English for communication and reporting purposes.
Responsibilities
- Participate in inspections alongside clients and EPC Contractor representatives for 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, and 415 V AC power distribution, instrumentation installations, switchgear, control gear, cathodic protection systems, HVAC systems, 110 V AC UPS, 24 V DC UPS, and related systems.
- Develop and review method statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) in collaboration with QA/QC and Project Engineers.
- Compile QA/QC inspection reports documenting inspections, materials evaluations, and any nonconformance issues.
- Ensure all required corrective actions for nonconformances are implemented effectively.
- Verify that all site drawings and documentation are approved and meet project requirements.
- Conduct functional testing of control valves, Shutdown Valves (SDV), and Emergency Shutdown Valves (ESDVs).
- Confirm availability and proper calibration of all equipment and specialized tools, ensuring valid calibration certificates are present.
- Attend FAT and SAT procedures for all high voltage and low voltage electrical equipment.
- Oversee quality control checks for electrical materials received on site.
- Prepare clear and concise weekly and monthly inspection reports summarizing field activities and findings.
