Role overview
Safran Engineering Services India is looking for an Electrical Harness Design Engineer for a 6-month contractual assignment in Bengaluru. This role calls for someone with 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in harness design and development, especially using CATIA 3D tools for electrical routing. The position suits a candidate who can contribute to projects in aerospace, automotive, or industrial environments.
Key responsibilities
- Build and refine electrical wiring harness solutions in CATIA V5/V6, using the Electrical Workbench and 3D environment.
- Prepare and update 3D harness routing models, flattening outputs, and installation drawings.
- Produce 2D drawings, formboards, and wiring schematics.
- Establish harness layouts, routing logic, and bundle protection requirements, then verify them.
- Carry out clash checks and clearance validation within assemblies.
- Create bills of materials and assist with release-related documents.
- Work in line with applicable industry norms and customer-specific specifications.
- Coordinate closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams.
- Contribute to design reviews, manage changes, and help close open issues.
- Support prototype assembly work and production-stage activities.
Requirements
- B.Tech or B.E. in any specialization.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in wiring harness design and development.
- Strong working knowledge of CATIA 3D for electrical harness routing and design.
- Experience with CATIA V5/V6, especially the Electrical Workbench and 3D tools.
- Ability to create harness drawings, flattening deliverables, and formboards.
- Familiarity with clash analysis, clearance checks, BOM preparation, and release documentation.
- Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or industrial applications is preferred by the role context.
- Comfort working with cross-functional teams and supporting reviews and issue resolution.
