Role overview
WAFI EVENT is hiring an E-commerce Product Sourcing Specialist for its office in Riyadh, Al Yasmin District. This role focuses on identifying promising digital and trending products from the Chinese market and supporting launch decisions with research and market insight.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out ongoing research on digital products and fast-moving product trends sourced from China.
- Study market movements and pinpoint products with strong sales potential.
- Reach out to Chinese suppliers and factories, then negotiate pricing terms.
- Evaluate suppliers by comparing quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Build product reports and assess the practicality and commercial viability of proposed items.
- Monitor new product launches and emerging innovations in e-commerce.
- Work closely with the marketing team to choose the right products for release.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should have experience researching products on Chinese platforms such as Alibaba and 1688, along with a solid understanding of e-commerce basics. Strong product evaluation and competitor analysis skills are important, as are excellent communication and negotiation abilities. English fluency is required, and familiarity with basic communication with Chinese suppliers is preferred.
Requirements
- Previous experience researching products on Chinese sourcing platforms such as Alibaba, 1688, and similar marketplaces.
- Working knowledge of e-commerce principles and product selection basics.
- Ability to analyze products and assess competitor offerings.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Experience or comfort with basic communication with Chinese suppliers is preferred.
- Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
