Role Overview
The Director of Sales will lead key Costco-facing sales efforts, with responsibility for strengthening Costco visibility, driving additional revenue, and building durable relationships with retailer partners that can support future growth. This role also helps shape regional processes, serves as a primary driver of top-line growth, and leads strategic planning and communication across internal and external stakeholders.
This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be based on the East Coast. The compensation range is $145,000 to $155,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills. Travel may be required up to 25%, including attendance at major industry events, client meetings, team and leadership trainings, and trips to corporate offices. Travel expectations also include at least one regional visit per month and quarterly travel for top-tier clients.

What You'll Do
- Partner across Leadership, Account Management, and Sales Support throughout the employee lifecycle to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Build open, coordinated working relationships with clients and internal cross-functional teams.
- Implement C.A. Fortune’s selling methods and sales approach.
- Work with clients to create and roll out relevant brand training programs.
- Stay engaged with field activity to understand execution challenges firsthand and provide guidance and coaching when needed.
- Make sure the team is using the right tools and technology effectively.
- Use the shared appointment calendar to coordinate activity and scheduling.
- Deliver meeting recaps within 24 hours, or by the next business day.
- Maintain frequent, steady communication with clients to keep business moving.
- Respond proactively and acknowledge client or buyer communication by close of business.
- Work toward resolving issues within 24 hours.
- Complete monthly competitive store and club walks in assigned Costco regions.
- Buy competitive samples and share recaps with the team as needed.
- Keep leadership updated regularly to support problem-solving and exchange best practices.
- Guide clients on how to structure information so the internal team can use the right resources effectively.
- Serve as the communication link for important information between supervisors, client teams, and the client’s Director of Retail or equivalent leadership.
Required Background
Candidates should bring at least 5 years of experience in sales, including exposure to sales leadership responsibilities. Hands-on experience working with Costco is required, along with a background selling directly to Costco across multiple regions and product categories within the club channel.
The role calls for someone who can juggle multiple priorities, solve problems effectively, work to deadlines, and operate with strong organization and attention to detail. Applicants should also be comfortable using strategic thinking and analytics to turn practical plans into execution. Strong communication skills are essential, especially the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and build rapport quickly.
A bachelor’s degree and other relevant certifications are required.
Preferred Experience
Applicants will stand out if they have prior sales leadership experience, agency or broker experience focused on Costco, and substantial work with natural food and beverage brands in the Costco environment.
