About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Director of Operations to join a top construction company based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland, specifically serving the Munster region. This pivotal leadership role offers significant independence and strategic impact, allowing you to shape the trajectory of a high-performing construction firm.
Key Duties
- Lead regional operations with strategic oversight.
- Manage delivery of several large-scale construction projects simultaneously.
- Lead and guide high-performing operational teams.
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, performance, and commercial results.
- Identify risks, both operational and financial, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Promote continuous innovation and operational excellence.
- Ensure adherence to quality, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support business development efforts and growth initiatives within the region.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction sector.
- Demonstrated senior management or director level experience.
- Proven success delivering major construction projects.
- Outstanding leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong commercial insight and business savvy.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and align with strategic goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Educational Qualifications
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in construction management will be also considered.
