Job description
Position Overview
Honeywell is seeking a Director of Government Relations to lead the company's engagement with government entities and related stakeholders. This role is vital in shaping and executing strategies that support Honeywell's policy interests and business growth. The director will develop strong connections with government officials, industry groups, and other key influencers to advocate on behalf of Honeywell and guide the company through regulatory landscapes.
Key Duties
- Drive the creation and promotion of legislative and regulatory initiatives that affect the company.
- Continuously monitor business-relevant legislative and regulatory developments; assess their impact; provide analyses and recommendations for appropriate corporate responses.
- Build and sustain effective partnerships with regulators, lawmakers, government staff, and other important parties.
- Lead the preparation of articulate, high-quality written materials—such as briefings, presentations, and publications—that communicate complex policy subjects clearly, especially for government audiences.
- Align strategies with consultants and trade association contacts to ensure Honeywell’s interests are strongly represented and coordinated.
- Manage communication channels and strategic briefings between Honeywell’s senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Engage and take leadership roles in industry associations, committees, and networks to safeguard and advance company initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of eight years’ experience in government relations, public affairs, or related disciplines.
- In-depth understanding of governmental functions, regulatory processes, policies, and laws.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities with the capacity to influence at various organizational levels.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving talents.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Proven ability to independently handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and landscapes.
- Prior experience specifically within corporate government relations roles.
