Role Overview
The Deli Assistant position involves preparing both hot and cold deli products of superior quality while maintaining customer satisfaction as the primary focus.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Preferably has HACCP training, though it is not mandatory
- Strong communication abilities
- Previous experience in customer service is beneficial
- Skilled at teamwork within fast-paced environments and capable of multitasking under pressure
- Possesses enthusiasm for food and can engage shoppers effectively
Key Responsibilities
- Embody the Centra brand values: pride, energy, creativity, and community focus
- Prepare customer orders in all fresh food sections, including making sandwiches and rolls, serving hot food, and slicing meats following store portion control standards
- Cook, prepare, and present food products throughout operating hours
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards for all fresh food counter displays consistently
- Express passion for quality food by sharing knowledge, recipes, and personal recommendations with customers
- Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally, adhering to store policies
