Decksmann / Matrose / Bootsmann (m/w/d)

Schlepp- und Fährgesellschaft Kiel mbH (SFK) is a medium-sized shipping company with a long-standing tradition operating sea tugs providing harbor tug assistance and sea towing services in the western Baltic Sea and the Kiel Canal. Our passenger vessels serve local public transport on the Kiel Fjord as well as excursion, charter, and harbor tours.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking qualified and adaptable candidates immediately for the roles of Decksmann 180, Matrose, and Bootsmann within the public transportation sector on our ferry ships. These ferry vessels are classified as inland ships operating in Zone 2.

Work Hours and Type

This is a full-time position requiring shift work.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate on deck of our new plug-in hybrid ferries equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
• Perform tasks such as securing and releasing the vessel during docking.
• Manage boarding ramps and oversee ticket sales as part of the deck crew duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a valid seafarer's service book (Schifferdienstbuch) with appropriate endorsements for the roles of Matrose or Bootsmann.
• Proficient German language skills at minimum B2 level to enable effective communication with passengers.
