About Avara Foods

Avara Foods is a prominent UK food company specializing in chicken and turkey products, supplying major supermarkets and renowned restaurants. The company controls its entire supply chain, from agriculture with over 350 farms across England and Wales, through processing facilities, to delivering products directly to customers.

Role Overview

We seek a motivated and capable Data Analyst to join our Data Engineering team based in Brackley, working onsite Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00. The Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making by creating and maintaining dependable data models, reports, and analytical systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to understand business operations and convert needs into effective data analyses and visualisations.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and pipelines that unify data from varied sources for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Create and refine dashboards and reports using platforms such as Power BI and Fabric to provide clear, actionable business insights.
  • Guarantee data accuracy, uniformity, and completeness by conducting validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
  • Automate routine reports and workflows utilizing SQL, Python, and tools like Power Automate, Logic Apps, and Oracle Integration Cloud.
  • Perform detailed data analyses to detect patterns, abnormalities, and improvement possibilities.
  • Assist users with on-demand data queries and develop self-service reporting tools.
  • Document data architectures, models, and analytical methods to ensure transparency and support team knowledge sharing.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in data analytics, BI, and automation technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis or a closely related role.
  • Thorough understanding of how data integrates with business processes to support decision-making.
  • Proficiency in developing reports, dashboards, and data models with modern BI tools such as Power BI, Oracle Analytics Cloud, or Business Objects.
  • Strong command of SQL databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with a structured approach.
  • Good organizational skills with strong documentation practices.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • Certifications related to Microsoft or Oracle data platforms.
  • Qualifications like BCS Business Analyst or Data Analyst certifications.
  • Familiarity with middleware and workflow automation platforms including Power Automate, Oracle Integration Cloud, and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), Microsoft Azure Data & Integration Services, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Data Integrator, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, and Microsoft Data Fabric.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary ranging from £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience.
