Role Overview
As a Data Analyst at Heidi, you will primarily support Growth and Marketing initiatives by analyzing user conversion, campaign effectiveness, and revenue retention metrics. Your mission is to scrutinize data pipelines to deliver honest assessments of business performance. You will transform complex, sometimes ambiguous business inquiries into data-driven insights and actionable recommendations without overwhelming stakeholders with technical jargon.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze data models covering campaign performance, marketing channel mix, funnel conversions, and acquisition metrics comprehensively.
- Monitor and defend customer acquisition costs (CAC) and ensure campaigns operate within budgetary boundaries.
- Convert vague or unclear business questions into structured analysis with clear, actionable insights.
- Develop dashboards and reports empowering teams to independently explore data and extract answers.
- Communicate findings into pragmatic recommendations and identify when requests address the wrong problems.
- Oversee the entire data pipeline from ingestion through modeling, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead investigative efforts to explain fluctuations in data, distinguishing genuine trends from data or pipeline issues.
- Utilize tools such as dbt, Databricks, and Omni daily, contributing to improved data modeling and reliability.
Requirements
- Between 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, ideally involving marketing or growth data within tech or SaaS environments; quality of project outcomes is prioritized over tenure.
- A passion for software and a belief in its power to improve daily experiences.
- Strong initiative to self-source answers before seeking assistance.
- Natural inclination to investigate discrepancies in data to find root causes rather than making excuses.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for artificial intelligence through practical experience such as side projects, prototyping, or development.
- Preference for building solutions independently rather than requesting them.
- Ability to confidently present and discuss data insights with stakeholders while remaining open to correction and collaborative ideas.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Ability to turn ambiguous performance questions into concrete, actionable insights.
- Self-driven approach to uncover answers without dependence on others.
- Determined mindset in troubleshooting data anomalies by finding core issues.
- Competence in aligning and negotiating with strong-willed stakeholders around data-driven conclusions.
Company Culture and Work Ethos
- Focus on long-term solutions rather than short-term gains.
- Proactive leadership in addressing upcoming challenges ahead of demand.
- Commitment to evidence-based decision-making, prioritizing patient outcomes over statistics when conflicts arise.
- Ownership culture encouraging problem-solving from start to finish with accountability.
- Emphasis on rapid incremental improvements through iterative development and measurement.
- Designing products with realistic, practical environments in mind, especially under strained clinical conditions.
