About the Role
Centorrino Technologies (CT) is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer in Australia to strengthen the security of information systems and data across project environments. The role is focused on building security into every stage of project design and delivery, while supporting the organisation’s broader customer experience mission. What You’ll Do
- Design and roll out security policies and procedures for project settings, ensuring they meet recognised industry standards and government guidance, including PSPF and ISM.
- Track, evaluate, and control vulnerabilities in systems and applications, and work with IT teams to set up protections such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-malware tools.
- Prepare and keep up-to-date documentation for security controls, incident response processes, and operating guidelines so that compliance and consistency are maintained across projects.
- Keep pace with current cybersecurity developments and help deliver security awareness training to build a stronger security-first culture among stakeholders and partners.
- Take the lead during security incidents, covering containment, removal of threats, recovery activities, and communication of risks and corrective actions.
- Perform detailed cyber risk reviews of systems and technologies to support compliance with government requirements and strengthen the overall security stance.
- Improve cyber security services continuously by introducing better tools, practices, and approaches to stay prepared for emerging risks.
- Oversee agreed service levels so that cyber security operations remain aligned with organisational objectives.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- An active NV1 Security Clearance.
- Prior experience in a similar client-facing position, ideally in a Managed Services setting and within a project-driven environment.
- Solid understanding of security technologies and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical ability along with clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and NIST.
- Hands-on experience administering Linux and Windows servers.
- Exposure to virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Good scripting capability using tools like PowerShell and Bash for automation and task execution.
- Broad familiarity with systems, networking, cloud, Microsoft, and security products.
- Knowledge of Azure networking.
- Experience working with Aruba, FortiNet, and Juniper hardware.
