Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Cyber Security Analyst to enhance our cybersecurity team. This role involves safeguarding our systems, networks, applications, and data from emerging cyber threats by monitoring security events, investigating incidents, evaluating vulnerabilities, and deploying security controls. Collaboration with IT, software, cloud engineers, risk, compliance, and business teams will be key to fortifying our cybersecurity stance. Ideal candidates have a passion for cybersecurity and protecting essential business assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor alerts, events, and logs using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
- Analyze and respond to cybersecurity incidents and threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts.
- Oversee security of networks, endpoints, cloud platforms, and applications to detect risks.
- Support the implementation and upkeep of cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls.
- Perform threat intelligence analysis to identify new risks and attack patterns.
- Assist with incident response, forensic analysis, root cause investigation, and recovery steps.
- Work alongside IT and engineering teams to enhance infrastructure and application security.
- Participate in audits, compliance checks, and risk management programs.
- Develop security documentation, reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.
- Provide security awareness training and promote best cybersecurity practices organization-wide.
- Research new cybersecurity technologies, tools, frameworks, and industry trends for continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals, including information security, network security, and risk management.
- Familiarity with security monitoring, SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Understanding of OS, networking concepts, cloud security, identity/access management, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Knowledge of incident response, malware analysis, threat hunting, and security operations.
- Experience with technologies like Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple security events and work under pressure.
- High professionalism, attention to detail, integrity, and accountability.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, SSCP or equivalents are advantageous.
