Customer Delivery Driver

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be the representative of Tesco on the road, responsible not only for driving but also for providing exceptional service by delivering groceries directly to customers' homes with a friendly and helpful approach. This role is physically active, hands-on, and varies daily, requiring independent work supported by a team at the base.

Availability

• Monday to Saturday, 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and workspace to maintain the quality of every order.
• Load the vehicle safely and conduct all necessary checks to guarantee it is roadworthy and ready for deliveries.
• Communicate courteously with customers regarding any changes to their orders, substitutions, or perishable items and manage refunds to maintain a positive customer experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each order with the utmost respect to preserve quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within the specified time slots and provide warm, genuine service to leave customers feeling appreciated and well-cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build strong team relationships and contribute positively to team morale to facilitate excellent customer service.
• A friendly and approachable manner toward customers and teammates alike.
• Adaptability to respond promptly to evolving customer needs and workplace changes on the road and at the store.
• Possession of a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (either full or automatic) held for at least 12 months without more than three penalty points.
