Role Overview

As a Courier within the Operations team, you will be responsible for the efficient sorting, delivery, and pickup of shipments. Acting as a certified DHL International Specialist, you represent the company’s brand and provide outstanding service to customers and the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Address customer needs with professionalism, friendliness, and courtesy at all times.
• Ensure shipment deliveries meet required delivery dates and pickups are completed with no misses.
• Provide timely updates and feedback to Team Leaders and Supervisors regarding customer interactions and service status.
• Follow up promptly on all customer inquiries and direct them to appropriate DHL departments when necessary.
• Report service-related issues to Supervisors and Lead Couriers promptly.
• Maintain accountability, honesty, and consistently meet performance expectations.
• Contribute suggestions for operational efficiency improvements or business needs.
• Handle special delivery or pickup requests as required.
• Participate in sorting and unloading shipments as part of daily duties.
• Collaborate with external contractors to ensure urgent shipment needs are addressed, alerting Supervisors ahead of time when assistance is required.
• Separate contractor shipments early to streamline processes.
• Meet delivery and pickup targets following service guidelines.
• Provide quality feedback to customer service regarding any service incidents.
• Communicate effectively with Dispatch and Customer Service teams when customer needs change, using initiative to ensure satisfaction.
• Identify and relay potential sales leads to the sales team and maintain good rapport for continuous business growth.
• Deliver all inbound shipments promptly and collect outbound shipments within standard timeframes to ensure smooth processing.
• Record all shipment process activities electronically via scanner or manually if needed.
• Handle all cash transactions related to deliveries or collections accurately.
• Maintain assigned vehicles to ensure proper working condition.
• Conduct duties professionally and courteously, respecting all road users to uphold company image.
• Secure and safeguard all shipments while under your care.
• Reconcile any undelivered shipments promptly and prioritize them for the subsequent delivery cycle.
• Complete all paperwork accurately for shipment movements and financial transactions.
• Submit payments and corresponding documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a valid Class 3 Singapore Driving License qualified for manual commercial vehicles.
• Have at least 1 to 2 years of driving experience.
• Good knowledge of Singapore's road routes.
• Preferred education is GCE 'N' or 'O' level or equivalent.
• Effective communication skills in English.
