Cost Control & Planning Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent Cost Control & Planning Engineer dedicated to ensuring projects are completed within the approved financial plans by effectively minimizing cost overruns. This role involves leading all facets of cost control, budgeting, project planning, monitoring, and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive planning and cost-control assistance across all projects, including managing variation reports, tracking milestone progress, and aiding in customer billing preparation.
• Create, maintain, and regularly review project budgets to ensure financial accuracy.
• Oversee total project spending by verifying invoices and claims from various suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Analyze cost estimates and propose enhancements for future budgeting and procurement methodologies.
• Administer project accounting systems ensuring data accuracy, security, and timely updates.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with vendors and service providers to support project operations.
• Prepare monthly forecasts reflecting project activity and team input to guide financial planning.
• Produce monthly cost reports to monitor expenses and confirm alignment with budget constraints.
• Assist accounts receivable during billing periods by tracking billing progress and resolving outstanding billing issues.
• Protect the company's financial interests in dealings with third parties and external stakeholders.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project cost control and planning roles.
• Familiarity and proficiency with MS Project or Primavera software tools is preferred.
