Role Overview

BDO Digital is actively recruiting a newly graduated Data Analytics/Data Engineer professional to join its expanding client-facing team on a full-time, permanent basis. This newly created position is integral to enterprise-level client projects across various sectors including Natural Resources, Finance, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute significantly to project delivery on client engagements through specialized industry knowledge.
• Collaborate directly with clients to implement effective analytics solutions, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved within budget and timeline.
• Design and develop tailored data models for specific industry projects.
• Work in partnership with engineers to refine data models and optimize query performance; develop advanced data queries for ad hoc and exploratory analytics.
• Create and maintain real-time data ingestion and transformation systems, supporting business intelligence and data warehousing technologies.
• Perform data cleaning and identify improvements for data collection processes; transform raw data into valuable formats suitable for analysis.
• Build, test, and sustain scalable data infrastructures such as databases and large-scale processing systems.
• Integrate various technologies and programming languages to connect systems effectively.
• Design or recommend visualization and BI tools like dashboards and automated reporting to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Stay informed on current and emerging development technologies to deliver cutting-edge analytics solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Post-secondary education in engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.
• Programming skills in Python.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
• Flexibility to adapt swiftly to evolving client requirements.
• Desirable additional skills include experience with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive, HDFS, Impala), understanding of ETL/ELT and Lambda/Kappa data architectures, familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Analytics stack (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, knowledge of Continuous Integration tools and source control systems like Git, data visualization capabilities with Power BI or Tableau, exposure to data science, machine learning, or statistics, and some experience with Docker.

Compensation and Benefits

The remuneration for this role ranges from $60,000 to $92,000 annually.
