Overview
If you have a passion for construction within the hospitality sector and desire a pivotal role governing financial management of international high-impact projects, this opportunity may be your next career milestone. As a Construction Controller based in Jamaica, you will oversee the entire economic and financial cycle of construction, renovation, and refurbishment initiatives within our hotel division, contributing directly to strategic projects across various destinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee budgets and financial performance of construction projects to ensure effective cost control.
- Manage contractual documentation including contracts, invoices, and certifications with rigorous validation and monitoring.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and analyses that inform strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate international logistics involving suppliers, customs agents, and transport operators efficiently.
- Ensure accurate documentation management for each project, maintaining traceability and control.
- Guarantee compliance with internal policies, relevant regulations, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Construction, Finance, Legal, and other key departments for seamless project execution.
- Monitor the economic and operational progress of ongoing projects continuously.
- Drive continuous improvements in supplier management processes and control systems.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; postgraduate education in financial project management within the tourism or construction sector is advantageous.
- 7 to 9 years of experience in finance and economic auditing in international construction environments.
- Strong expertise in finance, accounting, treasury, construction operations, and the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English at an advanced level.
- Hands-on experience with financial management systems and ERPs.
